Sharp Objects: An Unnerving Crime-Driven Thriller

Sharp Objects is an incredibly well written and intriguing piece of literature.

It is important to note, that I have decided to read this book after watching an equally amazing HBO series of the same name. I have thought that knowing the plot beforehand would make my reading quite boring, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Reading through the ending made me tremble no less than the series did. I was absolutely captivated and, perhaps, felt more emotions reading the lines, than watching the scenes.

What captivated me most about the story was that it was written with a different approach than most books in a criminal genre. Murder is the central topic to the book, but it is told from the perspective of a personal drama which would often make my blood cold while reading.

Lastly, I cannot convey how much I loved the writing itself. Gillian Flynn has a unique style, which made me truly want to read any and all of the books she has written.

I would advise you to read the story if you are a fan of crime & thriller, especially that with an unusual approach and unexpected twist.
